Bonnie
and Frank Martin: This
highly respected couple are cutting horse champions and PCCHA cutting
horse Futurity winners. "I ordered a saddle from Wendy and it
was worth waiting for, that year I won the PCCHA Cutting Horse Derby
riding her saddle. I like the feel of her saddles and they fit a
horse right, we have several horses that will get sore backs from
different saddles but when we put the Wendy Allen saddle on them
we don't have that problem. I love riding her saddle."

"Wendy
has been very great to work with, she is ready to make a saddle
the customer likes and she makes a beautiful saddle. She has made
a difference in how I ride by the way her saddles feel on a horse,
they are well built and fit a horse just right. Thanks Wendy,
your saddles are great!"

"Above all Wendy is talented with leather and saddles, I
admire her ability. I have rode her saddles for over two decades,
no one can question her workmanship. Wendy is the first saddlemaker
i know that can make a new saddle fit like a used one. I've won
several saddles over the years and brought them to Wendy, she has
taken them apart and re-carved the seat and leather and put them
back together where they fit right. It's a wonderful gift to have
a saddle Wendy has made, she has given me her talent in her saddles,
thanks Wendy."

Greg
Welch, 2003 President of the NCHA: "I've known
and done business with Wendy Allen since 1979, she has done my repairs
and made the saddles that I ride. She is a outstanding saddle maker
and makes a saddle that stands up to hard use, allot of riding and
that has the right feel on a horse." ~ Greg Welch |

I have been riding
horses all my life, and I’ve owned a lot of saddles. Recently, on
my 50th birthday, my husband offered to buy me anything I
wanted for this milestone occasion. When he mentioned diamonds, I
said ever so graciously “No thanks….but I would like a Wendy Allen
saddle.” Several months went by, and on the morning of December
23, 2008, the Fed Ex truck delivered the most beautiful saddle I had
ever seen in my life. A lot of people make saddles, but for Wendy,
it’s not about spitting out saddles like an assembly line. Her
saddles are all individual works of art that exude passion and
attention to detail. Quite frankly, I’ve never seen anything like
it. And the fit is amazing. My cutter has a lot of shoulder room
to get down low on the cows. Wendy even further customized my saddle
in such a unique way by inserting my name in an ever-so-subtle
fashion directly into the actual tooling of one of the roses. One
would have to stare at my saddle for hours before they noticed my
name on it—it’s simply amazing how she did that. Wendy, thanks
again for such a special present that will truly keep on giving
throughout the years.
