experts have to say in the
Wendy Allen
Saddlery Hall of Fame. Each saddle Wendy makes is created to
custom-fit both horse and rider, and is made of the finest quality leather
to ensure a lifetime of performance. Her own hand-tooled designs and
custom-made hardware and conches are a bonus to the unmatched comfort a
Wendy Allen saddle provides.
Wendy's love for leather
crafting is rooted in her life-long passion for horses. At age seven, her
father gave her a leather kit to repair her tack, thus launching a career
that would bring her international acclaim in the saddle-making industry.
While repairing old saddles, Wendy discovered the genius of old saddle
makers, and that the most enduring saddles were those crafted with
meticulous attention to detail.
Wendy has notched herself a place in western history with
her talent and love for saddle making. Her knowledge of equine and human
anatomy and kinesiology gives her the ability to shape a saddle to fit
horse and rider, and to make them one in the show ring, on the working
ranch, or on the trail. Some have called her a true "Buffalo Gal". Others
call her the top artist of her trade. Her clients always mention comfort
when asked about their Wendy Allen saddles. Too bad horses can't talk!
