Beau Galyean Saddle

Saddle Bronc Saddles

Wendy Allen, native Texan and renowned saddle maker in Dublin, Texas, has tooled and carved her way into Equine history, as the first woman saddle maker nominated four times into the Cowgirl Hall of Fame.

Wendy makes custom-fit saddles for a broad range of clients, including cutting, roping, and reining horse competitors, ranchers and working-horse riders, movie stars, and every kind of performance and pleasure horse rider you can name.

After 25 years of saddle making, Wendy has earned a reputation for creating the finest, most comfortable, one-of-a-kind saddles in the industry. The comfort of riding a Wendy Allen saddle in everyday riding and in competition is simply unmatched.  Read what the experts have to say in the Wendy Allen Saddlery Hall of Fame. Each saddle Wendy makes is created to custom-fit both horse and rider, and is made of the finest quality leather to ensure a lifetime of performance. Her own hand-tooled designs and custom-made hardware and conches are a bonus to the unmatched comfort a Wendy Allen saddle provides.

Wendy's love for leather crafting is rooted in her life-long passion for horses. At age seven, her father gave her a leather kit to repair her tack, thus launching a career that would bring her international acclaim in the saddle-making industry. While repairing old saddles, Wendy discovered the genius of old saddle makers, and that the most enduring saddles were those crafted with meticulous attention to detail.

Wendy has notched herself a place in western history with her talent and love for saddle making. Her knowledge of equine and human anatomy and kinesiology gives her the ability to shape a saddle to fit horse and rider, and to make them one in the show ring, on the working ranch, or on the trail. Some have called her a true "Buffalo Gal". Others call her the top artist of her trade. Her clients always mention comfort when asked about their Wendy Allen saddles. Too bad horses can't talk!
